He is exalted, the King is exalted on High

I will praise him

He is exalted, forever exalted and I will praise his name

He is the Lord, forever his truth shall reign, heaven and earth, rejoice in his Holy Name

He is exalted, the King is exalted on high.

C: Amen.

First Reading: Acts 2: 14a, 22-32

Psalm 16

Protect me, O God, for I take ref- | uge in you;

I have said to the Lord, “You are my Lord, my good a- | bove all other.”

All my delight is in the godly that are | in the land,

  upon those who are noble a- | mong the people.

But those who run after | other gods

shall have their troubles | multiplied.

I will not pour out drink offerings | to such gods,

  never take their names up- | on my lips. R

O Lord, you are my portion | and my cup;

it is you who up- | hold my lot.

My boundaries enclose a | pleasant land;

  indeed, I have a | rich inheritance.

I will bless the Lord who | gives me counsel;

my heart teaches me night | after night.

I have set the Lord al- | ways before me;

  because God is at my right hand, I shall | not be shaken. R

My heart, therefore, is glad, and my spir- | it rejoices;

my body also shall | rest in hope.

For you will not abandon me | to the grave,

  nor let your holy one | see the pit.

You will show me the | path of life;

in your presence there is fullness of joy, and in your right hand are pleasures for- | evermore. R

HYMN OF THE DAY—SPECIAL MUSIC        Maybe There’s a Loving God by Sara Groves youtube.com

P: Gathered into one by the Holy Spirit we now confess our faith in the words of the Apostles Creed

C: I believe in God, the Father almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried;

he descended to the dead.*

On the third day he rose again;

he ascended into heaven,

he is seated at the right hand of the Father,

and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting. Amen.

*Or, “he descended into hell,” another translation of this text in widespread use.

P: Uplifted by the promised hope of healing and resurrection, we join the people of God in all times and places in praying for the church, the world, and all who are in need.

Congregational refrain: P: Lord, in your mercy C: Hear our prayer

P: With bold confidence in your love, almighty God, we place all for whom we pray into your eternal care; through Christ our Lord who gives us the boldness to pray…

C: Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins

as we forgive those

who sin against us.

Save us from the time of trial

and deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom, the power,

and the glory are yours,

now and forever. Amen.

P: May the God who shakes heaven and earth, whom death could not contain, who lives to disturb and heal us, bless you with power to go forth and proclaim the gospel, in the name of + the Father, the Risen Son, and the Holy Spirit.

C: Amen.

SENDING SONG            Savior Song by Dakota Road

[Refrain] Sing to the one who has known us forever,

Dance to the rhythm of freedom and love

Rest and be sure in the arms of forgiveness, join in the savior song.

  • There’s nothing that can take away, all the love of the one who has saved us.

We may walk we may run or fall, but God is right there with us, through it all. [Refrain]

C: Thanks and praise be to God!
